First time

There's something special when we heard the word “First Time”. We remembered something different and worth cherishing moments. So great! Let me share my experience on my first ever lantern parade with my friends.
This happens a year ago, of course here in Central Luzon State University.  It feels so good joining the parade, I'm proud that I'm part of the Lantern Parade 2010. I really love the fireworks, really beautiful. I do admired all the participants of the Street Dancing Contest. But that's not enough make it memorable.
I chose to be with my high school friends than to be with my new friends. It's just that I missed them so much and I am more comfortable to be with my most trusted friends. I looked at all my high school classmates as my brothers and sisters. They were very important to me. I love them all. So let me share what happened to us that night.
At first we decided to go to the market of Muñoz to have a good time at the rides. Unfortunately, the “Perya” was closed. Well it's just sucks. Then it left us no o,ther choice we headed back in CLSU.
Then, we spent our time at the University Canteen, doing those singing stuff at the videoke. Until 12pm, we've been singing. At that time, we shared foods and drinks like we used to do back when we were high school students. Some of our classmates treated all of us, that they don't usually do. And what's funny is that we share only one glass, other students thought that we were drinking liquor. But it's not like that, we only have one glass because there wasn't any available glass.
After that we go back to the oval to have a look at what's going on that time. Just realizing that it was so cold that even our jackets were not enough to protect us from the cold weather. We don't have any blankets or tent. So, we decided to go to the film showing were we can get some comfort that we need. After the film have finished, we take a nap at the film showing's place. But when the organizers were packing up their things, we have to go to another place. It feels really colds. We felt like were  paupers when we got slept at the bench in the CAS main. At around 6 am we decided to go home with the lesson that we should be prepared next lantern parade to be comfortable at night.
That night was the longest night of my life, but I'm still happy because I spent that nigth with with my friends. We messed but still it feels good.

"My First Time Away From Home"

Leaving to go to college was my very first time away from home, and it took a lot of adjusting to a new surroundings.   I didn't have my mom right by my side anymore and I needed to become more independent on doing things on my own.   Adjusting to a new city, community, and school was a challenge because I was used to being in my own city, with my old friends, at my old school.   I often got homesick that makes me cry and wanted to go home, but I soon adjusted.

At first when I originally started taking about getting out of the house, and going to school I didn't realize that it would take so much adjusting.   I'm used to having my own room at home, but when I went away to college I had to share a room with a total stranger.   We are classmates but are totally different.    Although we are different, we have become close friends because they are the person that I spend all of my time with.   We talk about everything, share our belongings and help each other out.   It is hard to believe that I am so close to a person that was a total stranger a month ago.
Being away from home has made me more independent, because I have had to do things on my own.   When I was home, my mom did everything; from cooking for me to doing my laundry.   I have had to learn how to budget the money that I have and make groceries that will last for a while.   I don't have any income coming in so I have to wait for my mom to send me money.   Going to the store to get food is very different because I'm used to just going to my kitchen and getting whatever I need.   Laundry is another thing that I have had to learn how to do after leaving my mother's wing.

"ENCOUNTERING GOD-RETREAT"

As an individual, we should know who is Jesus in our life, what He wants us to do. In short, what is God’s reason why He created us? Me, as a student belongs to a certain group of Christian youths. Though I belong in this group, I still don’t know what is God’s purpose in letting me join to this group.

I started joining the KKB (Kristiyanong Kabataan para sa Bayan) during my high school days , specifically 3rd year. I thought I’m going to be a stranger here forever. But, things have changed as time goes by. My feeling of being out-of-place was replaced by JOY. You know why? Because God let me feel that I am His child and the people around me are my family. Days have passed that I didn’t notice…I am more happy having fellowship with the persons who worship my one true God than with the people who don’t even give a glance to the things that the Lord has given to them.
Time came when my leaders and youth pastor asked me if I want to go to Cabanatuan for encounter-God retreat. Uhmmm…before I continue my story, I want you to know what ENCOUNTER-GOD RETREAT is. Encounter-God retreat is one way of encountering God in a youth’s life. In here the congregation will do such things that will let you outburst what’s within you and let you know who really you are. The activities done in this big event let the youths know who really they are in spite of what they know already about themselves, and what they can be when they will exit the doors.

Now, I’ll continue my story. After the question of my leader, I first doubted if I can be able to go to that big event as they say because of my financial problem. When I told my leader about it ,he got angry because all he wants to hear from me is either YES or NO, but my answer is different from what he wants. I realize what I have said earlier, so I said YES. When I entered the worship hall ,I said to myself that  when I exit the said hall, I will be a new ME. And that event is my first time to encounter GOD and His mighty power.
Until this time, even i'm far away from my loved one's especially from my parents...i know that God is always beside me, protecting me from harm, saving me from the works of the devils, picking me up when i stumble down, reminding of His great love for each and everyone and most of all, wiping my tears in every moment that in crying.
After the encounter God retreat,a new has been formed. I can not explain the feeling of being a teacher, not of human subjects but of the law of Jesus. this time, I'm not only teaching my co-youths but also the thunder people especially those who are hungry not only in their physical bodies but also in their spiritual aspects.
